Finding the time to work on the goals you set can be tricky sometimes. With work, family and other personal obligations, you’re not sure how much more your busy schedule can handle.
What if I told you there was a way to increase the amount of time you have in a day by DOING LESS?
These 3 simple tricks have been crucial to having more time to work on goal setting.
#1 Hire a Professional to complete tasks around the office and at home. Start with non-income producing tasks like yard work, cleaning and possibly cooking. Around the office consider contracting with other professions for those tasks you have little to no skill in. Make a list of all the tasks you could hire out and start making some calls. Use the time you saved to work on tasks only you can complete on your goal setting to do list. Let the professionals handle the rest.
#2 Delegate chores around the home. I gave up the fantasy of being “super-woman” a few years ago. I’m not sure if it was due to being told I have high blood pressure or the constant feeling of not being able to please everybody. Either way, my first task was to start reducing my work load around the house. On those early morning and late night days, I now ask my husband to cook or help prepare dinner. The weekend list of cleaning and household chores was passed down to my daughter.
#3 Turn off the electronics. Let’s face it, your electronic devices are time thieves. At a moments notice you can be bombarded with text messages, television commercials, youtube links and more. Schedule a day each week where you turn off all distractions. Turn off the television, cell phone, email notifications and unplug for a while. You are going to be amazed at how much you are able to accomplish. Pick an assignment to work on now, make an appointment with yourself to do goal work and tackle it full force.
